Spørsmål ang Lavkarbo – svar

Her for leden fikk jeg en mail fra en leser med noen gode spørsmål ang lavkarbo. Jeg tror det er flere som lurer på det samme, så leger ut svaret mitt her :)

Du kan jo starte med å lese litt her (om du ikke allerede har gjort det).

Her kommer svar på resten:

– Spiser du aldri godteri? F.eks litt smågodt en gang hver 5uke eller sånn? Eller aldri slafsemat, altså gatekjøkkenburger/burger king, eller peppes pizza, sånn mat?

Godteri har jeg ikke behov av lenger  Etter en stund på lavkarbo smaker godteri bare e-stoffer og alt for søtt, jeg har rett og slett ikke lyst på det! Dette er jo også hovedgrunnen til at jeg ville begynne på lavkarbo, altså bli kvitt sukkersuget, for jeg var SYKT glad i godteri! Isteden så baker jeg en hel del med sunne ingredienser (du finner  masse oppskrifter på bloggen). Jeg spiser også mørk sjokolade, nøtter og lignende som snop. Også blir det en og annen appelsin, men det vil jeg ikke anbefale i starten. Bli kvitt søtsuget først, så merker du hvor mye «søtt» du tåler å spise før søtsuget kommer. Jeg har faktisk spist litt smågodt, men det smaker rett og slett ikke så godt lenger.

Når det gjelder fast food så blir det mest kebab (men det er også svært sjelden), men da spiser jeg ikke pita brødet. Det er mye mel og greier i kebabkjøtt, så det er ikke optimalt. Det har også blitt en burger et par ganger på mcDonalds (gjerne fordi det ikke har vært andre alternativer), men da velger jeg den burgern med best og mest kjøtt, også spiser jeg så lite av brødet som mulig. Jeg velger også salat eller gulrøtter istede for pommes. Sushi går det også en del av, men da spiser jeg bare halvparten av risen. Ellers er takobolle å anbefale, den er stor favoritt her i huset, og man kan fylle den med det man har i skapet (noen av ingrediensene er du selvsagt avhengig av). Pizza spiser jeg ikke nei. Jeg har spist det en gang på disse to årene, og det smakte bare deig. Så kan man jo lage sin egen :)

– Hvor mange ganger spiser du om dagen? Og hvor ca store er porsjonene? 
Optimalt spiser 3 store måltider om dagen (se her for noen eksempler), men for tiden har jeg ikke hatt tid til noen stor frokost og lunsj, så da har det blitt en bar, litt nøtter eller en appelsin imellom. Det skal det derimot endres på :)

– Teller du noe annet enn karbohydrater? 
Jeg passer på å ikke helle i meg fett, for det tror jeg ikke er sunt, men jeg er ikke redd for fett lenger! Selv på lavkarbo prøver jeg å holde meg til max 2000 kalorier om dagen, og når jeg har telt, så har jeg faktisk holdt meg under helt uten å prøve (ligger på rundt 1800 kcal om dagen). Man tror at man spiser så mye mer kalorier på lavkarbo, men siden maten metter mer og man etter hvert spiser mindre mengde mat, så stemmer ikke det.

– Har du ellers noen tips for en nybegynner?
Ta til deg tipsene jeg skriver her (som ikke trening i starten, bruk av magnesium osv). Start hardt, cold turkey! Husk også at du burde holde på i minst 3 måneder før du gir deg om du ikke er fornøyd med livet på lavkarbo, da det tar lang tid for kroppen å tilpasse seg. Vær også streng over en lang periode. Det gikk nesten et år før jeg var komfortabel med å ta meg et eple uten å være redd for å få søtsug. Nå går det helt fint, men for mange gjør det ikke det, spesielt ikke i starten. Et eple høres kanskje uskyldig ut, men et eple blir ofte to, og vips så sitter du med en pose smågodt i handa. Noen reagerer svært lett på fruktsukker og må rett og slett holde seg unna. Men så blir livet så mye lettere uten sukkeravhengighet, så det er verdt det :)

Husk, er det hardt å holde seg unna noe, så har du et sug etter det, og det er det lavkarbo kan hjelpe deg med :)

  • Synes det høres så utrolig ut at man mister søtsuget! Men tror ikke det hadde vært et kosthold for meg, da jeg ELSKER brød, pasta, frukt og ris, blant annet. Så da får jeg heller leve med litt snopsug ;-)

    De fleste nordmenn elsker pasta, ris, brød og frukt. Og de fleste tror at det er et forferdelig trist liv å leve uten. Men de som prøver finner fort ut at det ikke stemmer:-)

    Jeg kjørte lav karbo-fokus i vår. og hadde god effekt av det kroppslig og helsemessig. Men var et halvt år på utveksling i AUstralai, og der var det rett og slett ikke mulig å følge opp 100 prosent. Måtte bla gi helt opp når jeg skulle være backpacker uten kjøleskap og slik.. :(

    Men nå skal jeg tilbake, og LCHF denne gangen. OG dette skal bli varig! Jeg fikk litt sjokk da jeg starter for noen uker siden, og det har blitt litt så som så. Gikk hardt ut med mål om 20-25 gram karbs om dagen. Det funket ikke så bra. Har du noen tips til hvor jeg bør ligge, og hvor lenge før jeg går nedover igjen ?
    Hva ligger du feks på etter 2 år på lavkarbo nå?
    og når du sier at man burde holde seg unna frukt i starten – hva mener du om bær? jeg bruker bringebær til frokost eller mellommåltidene med gresk Youghurt og/eller CC.

      Hei! Nå holder jeg meg under 100 gram om dagen, men ligger vel på ca 60-70 gram karber i snitt. Jeg startet også hardt, og lå nok ikke på mer enn 25 gram om dagen da jeg startet, men det var nok det jeg trengte for å komme i gang, jeg måtte sjokke kroppen min. Om det ikke fungerer for deg, ville jeg nok lagt meg på rundt 60-70 karber i starten (si 3 uker), for så å trappe ned til 25 gram om dagen.

      Ang frukt og bær så er dette veldig individuelt. Jeg var på lavkarbo som sagt over et år før jeg turte å prøve matvarer med litt mer sukker, da jeg var redd for å falle tilbake. Nå vet jeg hva jeg kan spise og ikke spise uten å få søtsug, og et eple eller en appelsin går helt fint. Atkins går ikke alltid like fint, så der har du det :) Bær inneholder jo ikke veldig mye karber, men om man ligger på 25 gram om dagen, så vil jo en neve bær ta en stor del av den kaka. I starten ville jeg nok vært litt forsiktig, men på lang sikt så er jo bær veldig sunt, og absolutt noe jeg anbefaler å ha i kosten. Jeg baker f. eks med gojibær og tranebær, og selv om disse er søte, kan jeg ikke si at de vekker noe særlig til sukkersug hos meg :)

      Så mitt råd er – vei og mål i starten, og når du har kontroll så kan du prøve og feile litt. Langsiktig er en av fordelene med lavkarbo at man får et mye bedre forhold til mat (siden man mister søtsuget), og da skal det ikke være nødvendig å veie og måle maten for å få det til, det slipper ihvertfall jeg :)
